1. What is Premier White Composite Railing made of?
Premier White Composite Railing is made from a composite material that combines wood and special bonding agents for structural strength and durability. This unique wood/polymer railing system is also co-extruded with a PVC cap stock coating that is warranted against warping, rotting, cracking, peeling, insects, termites, fading and water damage. Our unique formulation results in a railing system that looks like expensive painted wood that stands up to the weather like vinyl railing.
2. What is the warranty?
Premier White Composite Railing handles like wood and installs with the same building tools. Unlike wood, Premier White Composite Railing comes with a 20-year limited transferable warranty. That means instead of constant maintenance, youll have a lot of relaxing ahead of you.

3. What surfaces can Premier White Composite Railing be mounted on?
Premier White Composite Railing complements any home exterior wood, stucco, brick, stone, or vinyl and can be used with confidence on various types of surfaces from decks to docks to concrete porches. Our post sleeves slide over standard 4 x 4 lumber posts. You do not need to alter the post installation techniques you normally use with wood.
4. Can Premier White Composite Railing be painted or stained?
Premier White Composite Railing is made from a co-extruded composite material that combines wood and special bonding agents for structural strength and durability. The result of this unique formulation is that you do not need to sand, or paint this product. You can paint the product, however, this will void the warranty on the product. If painting, contact your local paint dealer to select a proper paint to adhere to PVC.
5. What happens if some of the white on the railing chips?
Easy. Premier White Composite Railing can be touched up by using a light automotive rubbing compound. Be careful not to remove all of the surface coating. For deeper scratches that penetrate the cap layer, clean off any rough edges and fill the scratch with an automotive grade or acrylic touch up paint. Do not apply any paint to the non-affected area
or to gouges, dents or chips that expose the inner wood composite core. Clean and smooth the affected area with a light sand paper and apply a standard wood filler product and let dry as per the product manufacturers instructions. Smooth the area with sandpaper and touch up with Automotive or acrylic touch up paint as outlined above. Use rubbing compound to smooth out any scuffing or scratches caused by the sanding process.
6. What tools are required to install Premier White Composite Railing?
Premier White Composite Railing cuts, drills and screws similar to wood, using the same tools. And since our posts sleeves slide over standard 4 x 4 (nominal) lumber posts, you can use similar techniques for mounting that you are used to with wood. For a solid and easy installation, all of our balusters and rails are pre-drilled.
For additional information, see installation instructions. Safety glasses and proper clothing are always recommended.
7. If I cut it will the PVC chip? What type of blade should I use to cut it?
The Premier Rail system has a tough durable PVC top coating that will protect the rail from the elements for the life of the product. Cutting the product can be accomplished by using a good quality carbide tip saw blade. The saw should be inspected for wear, chips, and damage before use. The material cuts just like hard wood so some care should be taken to hold the product secure while cutting. Any movement of the part may result in a poor cut. In cold weather most materials become brittle and therefore, a slower cut should be used when cutting the product in cold weather.
8. How much will the railing expand and contract? Do I need to gap it?
Unlike other PVC products, the Premier Rail system is made from a combination of PVC and wood flour. The plastic gives the product years of performance while the wood maintains stability resulting in a product with minimal expansion. The Premier rail system does not need to be gapped between the rail and the post. The amount of expansion will not interfere with the performance of the product. A small gap may occur between the post and rail after the first year which is a result of settling of the deck structure and movements of the deck components. Tighten the rail mounting bracket bolts to reduce this gap and/or apply a modest bead of white exterior grade sealant to cover the gap. Clean the joint as recommended by the sealant manufacturer.
9. What material are the brackets made of?
All brackets in the Premier Rail System are made from stainless steel then powder coated to provide maximum resistance to the elements.
10. What lengths is Premier White Composite Railing sold in?
Premier White Composite Railing kits are available in the following applications:
6 x 36 3 ˝ Rail Kit
6 x 42 3 ˝ Rail Kit
8 x 36 3 ˝ Rail Kit
8 x 42 3 ˝ Rail Kit

11. How is Premier White Composite Railing packaged?
Premier White Composite Railing is packaged in 6-foot and 8-foot kits. Each kit contains all the components (balusters, handrail retainer, handrail, bottom rail, and centre support) hardware and fasteners necessary to install one complete rail section. Posts, caps and accessories are not included and are sold separately. For a detailed list, see Parts and Hardware List.
12. Is Premier Railing available in other colors?
Premier Railing is currently available in white only.
13. Is a colonial baluster available?
All Premier Railing is packaged with a square baluster only. At this time, a turned baluster is not available.
14. What is the largest angle this product can accommodate?
A standard installation attaches the Rail 90° to the post. Decks with more of a designer look use a maximum of 45° angle with the occasional 22 ˝ ° angle used for octagons and gazebo applications. Premier White composite patented “Rotation Bracket” allows the rail to be installed to any angle (left or right) allowing rail design freedom. Please note that the 3˝" handrails are for 90° installations to the 4x4 Post sleeves only. For the 3 1/2” handrails to be installed on the 4x4 Post Sleeve to any angle other than 90°, the handrail needs to be notched to fit on the corner of the Post as per the special installation tips. CAUTION: when cutting angled attachment to a post, the surface width required to mount the rail will increase. A larger post or surface may be required for some angles.
**In the very near future, a 6 x 6 post sleeve will be available which will allow all styles of handrails to be installed at any angle.
15. Can it be used for second story rail applications?
The Premier Railing system has been tested to a high degree but it is intended for use in one and two family dwellings. This includes the use of the product for more than ground level applications.
16. How should I care and clean Premier White Composite Railing?
The luxurious look and feel of fine-milled wood without the maintenance.
Because of its PVC protective coating, Premier White Composite Railing only requires occasional cleaning to maintain its beautiful white brilliance.
Premier White Composite Railing can be washed with a soft bristle brush and clean water from a garden hose which may be necessary to remove surface dirt and chalk, that can accumulate on the surface. If necessary, general household cleaning agents can also be used.
To remove light scuffing or scratching on the surface of the finish, use a light automotive rubbing compound. Be careful not to remove all of the surface coating. For deeper scratches that penetrate the cap layer, clean off any rough edges and fill the scratch with an automotive grade or acrylic touch up paint. Do not apply any paint to the non affected area
17. Does Premier White Composite Railing meet National Building code standards?
Yes! All Premier composite railing meets or exceeds all National Evaluation Service (NES) building code standards. Our railing (2 ˝” Top Rail, 6ft. span and 3 ˝” Top Rail, 8ft span) was tested by Intertek Testing Services in April 2002 to confirm code compliance with NES Load and Deflection Requirements for one and two family dwellings. Basic test loads were applied as set forth in Standard Building Code for railings. In addition, as per NES requirements, factored loads of two (2) times and two and-a-half (2.5) times the basic test load were applied. Premier Railing easily complied with all code requirements and was also able to support without failure factored loads of two-and-a-half (2.5) times the basic load requirements.

As such, when a composite product uses Strandex inside, you can be assured that you are getting the highest quality and strongest composite product available in the market today. All Premier White Composite Railing is made with Strandex techonology for extra strength.
