    1. What is Premier Decking made of?
Premier Composite Decking is made of recycled wood flour and high density polyethylene combined with pigment for color, an anti-fungal/anti mildew agent, and an anti-parasite agent. In addition, because it is manufactured using Strandex technology, Premier decking has five important features.

    Strength
First, it is one of the strongest deckboards on the market. The Strandex technology results in “strands” of wood flour exiting from the extruder like “strands” of spaghetti. Each individual “strand” of wood flour is encased in high density polyethylene (HDPE). These “strands” are then compressed and like “strands” of a rope make the rope stro nger, the s e “strands” of encased wood flour make Premier composite deckboard stronger.

    Protection from UV degradation
Second, Premier decking has increased protection against UV degradation. As each “strand” of wood flour is encased in high density polyethylene, it is protected from the harmful rays of the sun and will have significantly less color fade than most other products on the market. While ALL composite deckboard will experience what is known as a “settling in” stage whereby it “transitions” from the time it leaves the plant until it has been “weathered” after installation, Premier decking will experience less color fade and will “even out” to one consistent level of color within 8-12 weeks of installation.

    Protection from Water Absorption
Third, Premier decking has inc reased protection against water absorption. Again, as each “strand” of wood flour is protected by HDPE, the effects of water are minimal.

    Protection from Fungus and Mildew
Fourth, as Premier decking contains an anti-fungal agent, it will not suffer from the effects of mold, mildew or fungus. However, as in the case with all decking, occasional cleaning/washing is required to prevent surface accumulation leading to fungus and mildew.

    Protection from Insects and Parasites
Finally, Premier decking contains an anti- parasite agent that has been tested to repel even the most damaging of insects and parasites.

It all adds up to the highest quality composite decking available.

    2. What is the warranty?
Premier decking comes with a 20-year limited transferable warranty. For complete warranty details: Warranty PDF

    7. How should I care and clean for Premier Composite Decking?
Simply follow a few common sense rules and you will keep your Premier Decking looking beautiful and clean: Simply follow a few common sense rules and you will keep your Premier Decking looking beautiful and clean.

    1. Deal with stains quickly. Don’t allow them to penetrate the deck’s surface or bake under direct sun.
    2. Grease will stain any surface. Keep a splatter guard under your barbeque grill.
    3. Make sure your deckboards are sufficiently gapped or spaced. This will help prevent water from pooling on the surface of your deck and staining it. Using a flat tool, when necessary, you should clean out the expansion gaps between the boards to ensure proper drainage.
    4. Wash down your deck periodically with a hose, even it if appears to be clean. This will prevent the surface buildup of pollen and other airborne pollutants that can promote mold and mildew growth.

    8. Does Premier Decking meet National Building code standards?
Yes! All Premier composite products meet or exceed all National Evaluation Service (NES) building code standards.
